Campus Storage Solutions Terms and Conditions
This Agreement contains the full terms and conditions under which Campus Storage Solutions, LLC. ("CSS") provides services to the Customer.
Definitions
1. Pickup- The agreed upon date and time between CSS and the Customer, where CSS will take the belongings of the Customer into CSS possession.
2. Service- The overall storage process that includes the pickup, transportation, storage, and drop-off of the Customer’s boxes and other items. Service begins with pickup and ends with drop-off.
3. Drop-off- The agreed upon date and time between CSS and the Customer, where the Customer will take the belongings from CSS into the Customer’s possession.
4. Customer- The person that subscribes, purchases, or otherwise uses any CSS service.
5. Item- Box or item that is listed as part of a bundle on the Pricing page of the website. This does not include items that are placed inside of each box.
6. Terms- Standards and legal obligations clearly stated in the hold harmless/ conditions of this contract.
7. Website- Website owned and operated by CSS under campusstoragesolutions.com
Please note that CSS reserves the right to amend any portion of the Terms and Conditions from time to time in our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Website following the posting of revised Terms and Conditions means that you accept and agree to the changes. You are expected to check this page from time to time so you are aware of any changes, as they are binding on you.
The storage service provided by CSS includes the pickup, transportation, storage, and drop-off of the Customer’s boxes and other items. The Customer recognizes that CSS will be held harmless against any loss or damage to an item caused by CSS. All information regarding CSS’s responsibility to the Customer regarding claims on damaged or lost property is listed in the HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT below. The Customer agrees that they will not store any items that are prohibited by law or regulations of any federal, state, provincial, or local government in the U.S. CSS will not store items including:
Food
Alcohol
Hand Sanitizer
Liquids
Tobacco
Marijuanna
Firearms
Explosives
Lighters
Hazardous Materials: Chemicals, flammable items (arousal), lithium batteries, mercury
Odor Producing Materials
The Customer acknowledges that they are liable for any damage their storage contents may inflict on the property of others. CSS reserves the right to open and search any package to ensure that the enclosed items comply with the Terms and Conditions. CSS reserves the right to refuse to store any package at its sole discretion.
PAYMENT
The Customer agrees to pay the cost of the service before their items are picked up. The Customer agrees to pay any applicable fees as specified in the Terms and Conditions. The Customer hereby authorizes CSS to charge their credit card or bank account for any fee that may be incurred based on these Terms and Conditions. By accepting these Terms and using CSS services, the Customer agrees to authorize CSS to automatically charge the Customer's provided credit card for all charges related to the Services, including but not limited to storage fees, shipping fees, additional fees, and any other applicable charges. This auto-charge authorization shall remain in effect for the duration of the Customer's use of CSS services. The Customer may be subject to a 3% credit card processing fee depending on the state of the Customer. Checks and cash are not accepted as forms of payment for the services provided by CSS. The Customer acknowledges that there is a one month minimum billable storage length which means that if the Customer elects to have items stored for less than one month, the Customer will still be responsible for paying for one month of storage. The Customer acknowledges that they remain indebted to CSS for any balance owed on their account as a result of invalid credit card information, CSS's inability to receive credit card or check charge authorizations, or for any other reason which prevents CSS from being paid for the services and any additional fees. If the Customer has failed to pay the charges for the services or any additional fees prior to the date of scheduled pick-up of packages, CSS reserves the right to cancel the Customer's reservation until payment has been received in full. The Customer acknowledges that their failure to pay their account in full prior to the pick-up date could result in a termination of their reservation or additional fees. The Customer acknowledges that Campus Storage Solutions does not pro-rate monthly storage fees. For example, if the Customer requests that CSS stores the Customer’s item for longer than six months but less than seven months, the Customer will be charged for seven months of storage. This non pro-ration policy applies to every month that CSS stores the Customer’s items.
FEES/ LIABILITY
The Customer agrees to; be present during the specified pickup period as determined by CSS, be present during the specified drop-off period as determined by CSS, take all necessary steps to communicate with CSS to ensure the pickup and drop-off processes run smoothly. The Customer understands that they will have no access to their stored items at any point during the service period. The Customer acknowledges that they will not be able to cancel the service at any point while their belongings are in the possession of CSS. The “service period” is defined as the requested pickup date and the requested drop off date, as per the information provided from the Customer, either on the CSS website, Order Portal, or through any communication with a CSS representative. If the customer cancels their order less than 6 days before their belongings are picked up by CSS, the customer may be subject to a “Cancellation Fee” of up to $45. In order to receive a refund for payments, the Customer must have a phone conversation with a customer service employee from CSS. If the Customer must have a pickup or drop-off date that is not an option on the CSS website, they may be subject to a “Custom Pick Up/Drop Off Fee” up to $75. The Customer grants CSS the permission to take their belongings to its storage facility at the sole discretion of CSS. If the customer must change their pickup or drop-off date or time, they must do so 72 hours before the scheduled pickup or drop-off. Any change within 72 hours of the pickup or drop-off may incur a “Late Pickup Change Fee” or “Late Drop Off Change Fee” up to $75. The Customer must provide 72 hours notice for a drop-off request, or may be subject to a “Late Drop Off Request Fee”. The Customer must provide 72 hours notice for a pickup request, or may be subject to a “Late Pickup Request Fee”. Additionally, CSS reserves the right to refuse any request to change the Customer’s pickup date or drop-off date at CSS’ sole discretion. The Customer acknowledges that CSS will not be held liable for any damage to the Customer’s belongings before pickup occurs or after drop-off occurs. If there is a circumstance where the Customer does not respond to CSS’ attempts to contact the Customer during drop-off, CSS will retain the customer’s belongings for 30 days in accordance with Vermont Statute (Title 9, Chapter 98). If the Customer does not contact CSS within 30 days after the scheduled drop-off and receive their belongings, the Customer agrees that the belongings will become permanent possession of CSS with which CSS has the sole discretion to do what it pleases with the belongings and the Customer may be subject to a $125 fee. The Customer’s items will be stored at a CSS storage facility selected at the sole discretion of CSS. These storage facilities are not climate controlled. The Customer acknowledges that CSS will not be held liable for any damage that may occur to items inside a box or packaging without evidence of damage to the outside of the box or packaging. Any damaged cartons must be inspected in the presence of a CSS representative at the time of drop-off to confirm damage. All damaged boxes must be opened at the time of delivery, at which time the CSS representative will document the damage. For loss of stored packages, the Customer must notify the CSS representative of the loss at the time of delivery of the other packages. The Customer agrees to first claim any loss against any insurance carried by the Customer or the Customer's parents, if available. Except as specifically provided in this Agreement, the Customer waives any claims for damage or loss of any article against CSS and its employees. The Customer hereby authorizes CSS to charge the Customer-provided credit card or bank account for the balance owing for the services rendered and any additional fees. The Customer expressly releases and holds CSS, and its agents and employees harmless from any and all costs of processing any claim or defending any claim arising from this Agreement. The Customer expressly acknowledges that CSS is not a professional storer, mover or common carrier and waives the right to hold CSS to any laws or standards governing storers, movers or carriers. CSS will cover (be liable for) any loss or damage of property that is incurred during the moving or storage process. CSS will cover lost or damaged items up to $100.
